Art is a weapon: Wael Zuaiter, the man who involved italians in Palestinian Cause (episode 37)
In this episode we are going to remember Wael Zuaiter, the well-known Palestinian intellectual and translator who lived in Italy in the early 70’s. He was assassinated in Rome in 1972, thus sadly becoming the first intellectual to be killed in Europe during the Mossad Operation Wrath of God, the violent yet unpunished reaction of the slaughter of Israeli athletes during the Munich Olimpyc Games.
During his permanence in Rome Wael became friend of the left wing “intellectual elite” and led many Italians into a deeper consciousness of the Palestine cause.
