COSPE was founded on 19 April 1983 and registered on 19 July 1984 (D.M. n° 2416, 19/7/84). Both Development Co-operation and Awareness/Education Activities started at the beginning of the organisation involvement in support of intercultural dialogue, fair sustainable development and human rights. COSPE is currently committed to the implementation of more than 100 projects in around 30 countries world-wide. Ever since its early days it has been promoting programmes aimed at promoting anti-racism and an inter-cultural society, whilst playing an active role in international solidarity networks and campaignsMain activities of the organisation are International Development Co-operation and Development Awareness/Education as a means to achieve peace and justice among peoples.
COSPE implements programmes in the following areas: development of small businesses and income-generating activities; rural development and agricultural support; community-based natural resources management; education and health; protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms; promotion of women’s rights and equal opportunities; support for refugee populations and victims of war; development education activities and campaigns to arouse public opinion on matters of global interest; antiracism training and support of equal-opportunity policies for citizens from ethnic minorities in Europe; right to education and intercultural awareness.
COSPE is an association promoting intercultural dialogue, fair, sustainable development and human rights.
Its activities are based on International Development Co-operation as a means of achieving peace and justice between peoples.
Its vision is one of fair, sustainable development promoting the freedom of peoples and the individual, as well as the quality of life of both current and future generations.
Regardless of sex, religion or culture, it believes that all persons should have equal basic rights, equal opportunities and fair access to economic resources in order to improve living conditions.
It supports projects aimed at promoting real social change and favouring the active participation of the peoples involved.

The PYU is a Palestinian Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Youth Organization that was founded in 1992. The Union was founded by a group of young men and women from the local communities who were active in the Voluntary Work Committees during the Occupation in the late Seventies up until the first Intifada. The establishment of the Union was a response to the urgent need of Palestinian Youth to concentrate their potentials and efforts in the reconstruction process after the signing of the Peace Agreement .

Since the year 2000 AMIS has been involved in training and advocacy projects with the aim to increase the participation of the civil society to the communication landscape, and in particular radio.
Thanks to its experience, AMIS set up – with the contribution of UNESCO and in partnership with the Arab Media Institute – the first radio and internet production centre in Middle East, Ammannet, born in Amman, Jordan, in July 2000.
In the year 2004 the agency start up a new project in Palestine, in the city of Hebron.
“Democracy and Human rights from the grassroots” aims to support the civil society participation in the democratic process through the use of media. For this purpose, a fully equipped media centre (for video, radio a and photo productions) has been set up, and regular training activities (on all levels of media production, administration and networking) have been carried out. The project, financed by the EU Commission (ex B7 – 6000), will end in October 2006.
AMIS started its collaboration with COSPE in the year 2000 in the frame of the project MMC2000, Multicultural Multimedia Channel, an internet and on air multicultural radio. Since then, many projects have been carried out, especially in the field of media and multicultural issues.
From the year 2001 to 2003, both organisations were partner in the project “Archivio Sviluppo – Development and Human Rights”.
In the year 2003 and 2004, AMIS and COSPE participated to the redaction of the European Manifesto on Minority Community Media, presented the 29.04.04 to the President of the European Parliament P. Cox.
In the year 2005 AMIS and COSPE participated to RECORD -Community radios for a European dialogue
